DAY 1: ARRIVAL
Arrival at Rome Fiumicino airport and transfer by Gran Turismo bus to the hotel in the central area of Rome. Check-in, dinner at the hotel and overnight stay.
DAY 2: ST. PETER’S BASILICA - VATICAN CRYPT - ST. PETER’S SQUARE
Breakfast at the hotel and transfer to the Vatican area to start our visit to St. Peter's Basilica, the largest Basilica in the world, and the Vatican Crypt, which is a monumental complex of great historical importance. In addition to the tomb of St. Peter, it also houses the tombs of numerous Popes including John Paul II. Lunch at a restaurant. In the afternoon, we will visit the Vatican Museums, one of the most important World Heritage Sites. The visit includes the Gallery of Candelabra, the Gallery of Tapestries, the Gallery of Maps, the Room of the Immaculate Conception and much more. The highlight of the visit will be the Sistine Chapel, where you can admire Michelangelo’s great spiritual message. Return to the hotel, dinner and overnight stay.
DAY 3 - ANCIENT ROME AND THE SQUARES OF ROME
Breakfast at the hotel, and we will start our journey with the Colosseum, going on to admire the Arch of Constantine and the Arch of Titus, with a visit to the Roman Forum, the largest archaeological area of Rome, where we will walk on the same ground trodden by the ancient Romans. In Campidoglio, we will admire the trapezoidal-shape square designed by Michelangelo Buonarroti, and then go to Piazza Venezia, where there is the Vittoriano. Lunch at your leisure, and in the afternoon we continue our trip taking in the Trevi Fountain, made famous by Fellini’s film “La Dolce Vita”, continuing through the heart of the political capital to Palazzo Chigi, Montecitorio and Palazzo Madama, until we arrive at the Pantheon. Erected by Emperor Hadrian in the 2nd century AD, its open dome is still the largest in the world. Our tour ends at Piazza Navona (site of the ancient stadium of Domitian). Return to the hotel, dinner and overnight stay.
DAY 4 - DEPARTURE
Breakfast at the hotel and departure by Gran Turismo coach to Roma Fiumicino airport.
